Counseling

Starting elementary school is a big step. It's full of new friendships, new skills, and plenty of big feelings along the way. Our school counselors are here for all of it. In every one of our seven elementary schools, a certified school counselor helps each and every student feel welcome, build confidence, and grow into a kind, capable young person.

How Our Elementary Counselors Help
Your child's counselor is a familiar, friendly face throughout the school day. They:

  • Teach classroom lessons on friendship, feelings, and solving problems
  • Lead small groups where students learn and grow together
  • Offer one-on-one support when a child needs it most
  • Partner closely with teachers and families
  • Connect families with helpful community resources

When To Reach Out
You know your child best, and you're always welcome to connect with their counselor. Families often reach out during:

  • Family changes like a move, a loss, or a separation
  • Shifts in mood, behavior, or how things are going in class
  • Bumps in friendships or building self-confidence
  • Any question about your child's social, emotional, or academic growth

Grounded In Trusted Standards
Our elementary counseling program follows the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Standards and Pennsylvania's standards for student interpersonal skills, drug and alcohol education, and career education and work — so families across all seven schools can count on the same strong, consistent support.
