From counseling and health services to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) supports and everyday classroom experiences, our focus is on helping each child feel safe, supported, and ready to thrive. We’re committed to nurturing not only strong learners, but confident, compassionate young people prepared for whatever comes next.
Counseling
We know that a child’s emotional well-being is the foundation for everything they do. From making a new friend on the playground to tackling a tough math problem, our Elementary School Counseling program is here to ensure that every student feels safe, happy, and supported.
Health Services
Our Certified School Nurses work hand-in-hand with parents, staff, and local providers to ensure every child is supported, safe, and ready to learn.

At Jefferson Elementary, creating a positive school climate is a shared commitment. Our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework helps students develop strong social skills, build responsibility, and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment for everyone.
Our School-Wide Expectations: The Three R's
Jefferson Super Stars are encouraged to live by three core expectations every single day, in every space, in every moment:
- Be Respectful — Treating others the way you want to be treated, in the classroom and beyond.
- Be Responsible — Owning your choices, your actions, and your learning.
- Be Ready — Coming prepared, staying focused, and giving your best effort every day.
These expectations are taught, modeled, and reinforced consistently by staff across classrooms, common spaces, and school activities.
Recognizing Positive Choices
Celebrating student success is at the heart of our JES Super Stars program. At Jefferson, great choices are recognized every day, and the excitement builds all year long.
- Daily Recognition: Staff recognizes students who demonstrate the 3 R's through SuperStar Earnings, acknowledged by name and homeroom, with colors recognized each month.
- Weekly Recognition: Every Monday, one Super Star per grade is selected to receive a special reward:
- A spin of the SuperStar Wheel
- A turn at the PLINK Puck Drop
- Monthly Recognition: Plinko Points: Students work together to earn Plinko Points schoolwide, with monthly goals that grow as the year goes on. When the school hits its monthly goal, students unlock a NEW School-Wide Mystery Motivator: a surprise celebration that brings the whole JES community together.
